Green Watt Power, a division of Powerland Technology, has announced a 48 V, 48 A version of its EVC2400 series of ruggedised AC chargers for lithium-ion batteries used in EVs, materials handling, motorcycles, scooters and e-carts.

Its design is said to allow easy mechanical integration into a variety of form factors and is available in fan- and liquid-cooling options. The standard overall dimensions of the fan version, the EVC-60-2400, is 240 x 187 x 70 mm (9.45 x 7.36 x 2.76 in) and weighs 5.2 kg (11.5 lb). The package is designed for high power density and thermal efficiency, is fully potted and has an IP66 rating.

The EVC2400 has a universal input range of 90 to 264 V AC, and is able to handle a wide range of wall power input voltages and frequencies around the world. The input frequency range is 47 to 63 Hz. With efficiencies up to 93%, the power factor correction is 0.99 at 110 V AC in and 0.98 at 220 V AC in.

The charger has CAN comms for unit status and control, with protection features including OVP, OCP, SCP, OTP and UVLO. The turn-on delay at full load is no longer than 5 seconds. The operating temperature ranges from -40 C to +60 C with a storage range of -40 C to +85 C.

The EVC is designed to meet UL/CSA, TUV and EN55022 Class B, EN55032 Class B. Units are available from stock to 8 weeks.
