The Dukosi Cell Monitoring System (DKCMS™) with C-SynQ® represents a step-change in battery management system architecture for electric mobility and stationary energy storage applications. Unlike traditional wired daisy-chain designs, the system features a chip-on-cell approach combined with near-field RF communication in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. Inductive coupling provides power and bidirectional encrypted data transfer with robust error correction via a single bus antenna, eliminating complex wiring harnesses and reducing harness mass by up to 40%. This architecture removes safety risks such as ground potential differences inherent in high-voltage series connections.

Each DK8102 Cell Monitor installed on individual cells delivers voltage measurement accuracy of ±0.6 mV typical (at 25°C) across a 1.5 V to 5.0 V range and samples continuously at 1 kHz. Temperature sensing includes an integrated die sensor plus support for up to two thermistors, with typical accuracy of ±1°C. The system supports synchronous data capture with deterministic latency from up to 216 cells managed by the K8202 System Hub, which communicates to the BMS host via SPI.

The architecture enables lifetime traceability at the cell level, facilitating predictive diagnostics and enhancing battery safety management. The DK8102 Cell Monitor and DK8202 System Hub are targeted to be AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certified and intended for use as safety elements out of context within an ISO 26262 ASIL-D rated battery management system.

Independently, they have undergone threat analysis aligned with ISO 21434 cybersecurity standards. The system also complies with IEC 62133 and UN38.3 standards and is designed for safety-critical automotive and industrial environments. By significantly increasing measurement precision and reducing mechanical failure points, Dukosi’s solution supports performance optimization, safety, and long-term cost efficiency with flexible pack design options.

Dukosi will be showcasing the DKCMS with C-SynQ at The Battery Show North America, giving attendees the chance to experience this next-generation battery monitoring technology first-hand.
